For a student who is a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, or a student enrolled in AFROTC.
About the Benefactor: Andy Borg and Family
Andy Borg, an alumnus of UW-Superior, contributed both to his campus community and his country. He was one of the scoring leaders of the UWS men’s basketball team and he was also a basketball official. After his studies and his time served for his country, he went on to be a prominent attorney.
He was also an active member and supporter of the VFW. In fact, the VFW or Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States named Andy Borg the National Commander in Chief from 1965-1966. The mission of the VFW is to “honor the dead by helping the living”. Their scholarships, Andy Borg’s included, are only one small part of the immense help and support that they give nationally.
