Overview
Known as the Degree that Delivers, our nationally recognized transportation and logistics management major is recognized as a leading program nationally due to its numerous awards, industry-inspired curriculum and exceptional student outcomes. Our location on the doorstep of an international transportation hub provides access to all five modes of transportation: air, highway, rail, marine and pipeline. This proximity supplies students with access to industry tours, networking with local, international and global leaders, and countless internship and job opportunities.
To meet the needs of students balancing work and personal responsibilities, this program is offered both on-campus and fully online. You may choose from one of three graduation plan options:
- A four-year plan earning a B.S. or B.A. degree in transportation and logistics management
- An accelerated plan that leads to graduating in 3.5 years with a transportation and logistics management major
- A four-year plan leading to a double major in transportation and logistics management and business administration with a concentration in supply chain management
What You’ll Learn
As a student in this program, you’ll experience coursework in transportation modal management, supply chain management, environmental sustainability and international trade, which all build upon a strong business management foundation. Through this program, you will:
- Gain a sound education in business fundamentals and expanded learning in transportation management, logistics and supply chain management.
- Acquire real-world experience with field tours, speakers and internships.
- Learn and apply logistics and supply chain theories and tools.
Program Outcomes/Career Opportunities
The transportation and logistics sector is experiencing substantial growth resulting in increased demand for highly trained specialists in the field. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that transportation-related fields are growing by nearly 56,000 jobs per year just in the United States alone.
Our graduates are prepared for a wide variety of management positions. Examples include:
- Transportation managers for air, highway, rail, marine, pipeline or intermodal systems
- Purchasing managers
- Warehouse, terminal or distribution center managers
- Inventory managers
