Overview

Communication is central to every human interaction. It’s crucial to understand the role communication plays in our relationships and interactions with others. UW-Superior’s communication concentration explores how social interactions shape our everyday personal and professional lives, including how we form and negotiate relationships in groups, communities and cultures.

What You’ll Learn

A degree in communication will prepare you to participate creatively and analytically in our ever-changing world. This program will guide you through various types of modern communications with a critical, cultural and global lens. Courses examine key topics such as intercultural, interpersonal and media communication. You will gain essential skills that will help you forge productive relationships and flourish in your chosen field.

In this program you will:

  • Acquire a practical toolbox of communication perspectives and applied frameworks relevant to virtually any profession
  • Learn and apply communication theories and concepts to improve your performance in public, personal, persuasive, and media communication contexts
  • Develop and use research methods to understand the complex ways communication shapes our lives and examine the relationship between theory and practice
  • Benefit from real-world experiences by completing an internship and an individualized senior capstone project
