Overview
The Associate of Science – Engineering degree will prepare you to succeed in a bachelor’s engineering program of your choice. You will focus on the appropriate math, science and introductory engineering coursework in a cost-effective, highly personalized environment.
As a student in this program, you will also receive individualized academic advising to help you transition into a four-year engineering program. Completion of the A.S. degree satisfies University Studies requirements at UW-Superior and other Universities of Wisconsin institutions.
Partnership with UW-Platteville
UW-Superior has partnered with the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in two ways:
- You may take select first and second-year engineering courses online from UW-Platteville engineering professors.
- Once you complete the A.S. in Engineering at UW-Superior, you may take advantage of the seamless transfer path to UW-Platteville to finish your bachelor’s degree, typically in two years. Areas of study at UW-Platteville include:
- Mechanical engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Industrial and systems engineering
Academic advisors will help you work toward an associate’s degree in engineering at UW-Superior while meeting the transfer requirements for UW-Platteville or another engineering school of your choice.
Partnership with the University of Minnesota Duluth
As a student at UW-Superior, you have the option to take introductory engineering courses at the University of Minnesota Duluth as part of your UWS tuition through our cross-registration agreement. Degree Requirements & Details
A minimum of 60 credit hours is required, with at least 24 credits earned at UW-Superior.
University Studies general education courses will cover the following areas: humanities, social sciences, natural and physical sciences, fine and applied arts and diversity/global awareness. Beyond these core requirements, you will take pre-engineering courses to prepare you for a bachelor’s program.
What You’ll Learn
Students enrolled in the engineering program at UW-Superior will take core courses needed to build a solid foundation in the high-demand engineering field. Core course requirements include calculus, chemistry, engineering and physics.
International Students
STEM Designated Degree Program
For international students, this major is a STEM Designated Degree Program which can qualify you to extend your post-graduation stay in the United States.
