What’s the Tea?: TwoSpirit Identities

Monday, November 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM
Event Category: Equity/Diversity Event

Location of this event will be in the Gender Equity Resource Center, 1031 Swenson Hall

Join us in learning about the history and current day usage of the Indigenous term and identity TwoSpirit. This conversation will feature Kat Werchouski. Kat is a proud member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe, with ties to the Leech Lake and Lac du Flambeau Ojibwe tribes as well as the state of Jalisco, Mexico. There will be some time for question and answer during our time together, and we hope that all participants will come away with a better understanding of TwoSpirit identities and how we can all be good relations for our TwoSpirit relatives.

This conversation event is part of the GERC’s What’s the Tea? program series. For any questions or additional information, please contact the GERC at genderequity@uwsuper.edu or T Wainman, Gender and Sexuality Programs Coordinator, directly at twainman@uwsuper.edu
