Weekend of Welcome (WOW) is a required comprehensive educational and social program designed to prepare incoming first-year students to succeed at UW-Superior. WOW provides students an important opportunity to meet other students, explore campus and prepare to start the year through a variety of sessions, events and traditions. We are so excited to welcome our newest Yellowjackets to campus this fall!
Once you arrive, your Team Leader (an upperclassmen) will help you navigate WoW and getting started on campus. The countdown is on and we can’t wait!
Weekend of Welcome Schedule | Fall Semester 2024
Saturday, August 31st
- 8:30am – 1:00pm: Residence Hall Move-In
- *8:30am – 1:00pm: WoW Check-In in the Yellowjacket Union
- 5:00pm – 9:00pm: Residence Hall Floor Meetings & Activities
*Commuter students do not need to attend Saturday, they can check in on Sunday at 11am
Sunday, September 1st
- **9:30am – 1pm: Bridge Program Orientation – lunch provided
- ***11:00am – 12:45am: Commuter Student Check-In (YU Atrium)
- *1:00pm – 1:30pm: WoW Welcome
- *1:30pm – 2:00pm: Involvement & Recreation Teaser
- *2:00pm – 2:30pm: Team Meeting #1
- *2:30pm – 2:45pm: Travel to next session
- *2:45pm – 4:30pm: Team activities
- *4:30pm – 6:00pm: Dinner with mentors (dinner provided)
- 6:00pm – 8:00pm: Party on the Plaza (DJ, crafts, photobooth, yard games, fun!)
- 8:00pm: Free Time

Monday, September 2nd
- *9:30am: Team Meeting #2
- *10:00am – 11:45am: Educational Sessions
- *11:45am – 1:00pm: Lunch with EDI (lunch provided)
- *1:00pm – 4:00pm: Educational Sessions
- 5:00pm – 7:00pm: Dinner on own (cafeteria open)
- 6:00pm – 8:00pm: Open Rec Night (Inflatables, sports, games, climbing wall, and more!)

Tuesday, September 3rd
- 8:00am – 9:30am: Optional Advising Drop-Ins (Last name A-M)
- 8:00am-8:45am (ONLY!): Doorbuster (YU Atrium, Cool FREE stuff!)
- *8:45am: Team Meeting #3
- *9:00am: Travel to sessions
- *9:15am – 12:00pm: Educational Session Rotations
- *12:00pm – 1:00pm: New Beginnings Luncheon (lunch provided)
- *1:00pm – 1:50pm: Department Meetings & Undeclared Meeting
- *2:00pm: Class Picture
- 2:00pm – 4:30pm: Optional Advising Drop-Ins (Last name N-Z)
- *2:15pm – 3:15pm: WoW Closing & Prizes
- 3:15pm: Relax, prepare for classes!
