Welcome to the Writing Center!
Our center – located in Swenson Hall 1024 – provides free assistance to any and all UW-Superior students with the writing you do for your classes, no matter the subject. Our peer consultants have been trained to assist with all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming topics to making final revisions.
The Writing Center consultants are trained and experienced in providing feedback in person and online. Check this page for updates on which type of sessions are currently being offered.
During the fall and spring semesters, the Writing Center is open for in-person and online appointments during the day on weekdays. Evening consultations are available Sunday through Thursday. During the summer term, online are consultations are available.

Guidelines for Making and Keeping Appointments:
Appointment Length: 30 minutes for most consultations. For papers exceeding 5 pages and/or clients for whom English is not the first language, consider 60-minute appointments.

Accessing and Participating in Online Consultations: To start a scheduled online consultation, click on the box on the schedule that represents your appointment. A dialogue box will appear (your original appointment form). Then click on the phrase, in red letters, that reads “Start or join online consultation.” Consultations are interactive and synchronous; you must be present and communicating with your consultant throughout the session.
Canceling an appointment: If you are unable to attend your appointment, please cancel it in advance by clicking on your appointment box on the schedule and selecting “Cancel” at the bottom of the form. You can cancel up to 5 minutes before the start time.
