About

Math FastTrack is a free online, accelerated math program designed to enhance foundational mathematical skills and help UW-Superior students prepare for the UW-System Math Placement Exam. On average, over 70% of past participants who used the FastTrack to prepare for a retake of the placement exam improved their scores.

The program is open to all UWS students and can be started at any time. Though designed to be completed in four weeks, students are welcome to progress through the content at their own pace. For best results, it’s recommended that students enroll in the program at least four weeks before taking or retaking the math placement exam.

To register for the Math FastTrack, you will need your UWS Student Identification number and your UWS email address.

What are the advantages of participating in Math FastTrack?

  • Students will increase your preparedness for college-level math courses after reviewing and practicing crucial math topics throughout the course.
  • There is a potential savings of $1500-2000 (i.e. cost of one to two, 3-credit courses) if students place higher on your placement exam.
  • Students may be able to complete your college math requirement faster by taking fewer required math courses.

Who qualifies for the program?

Any UW-Superior student is welcome to participate in the Math FastTrack program to prepare for the Math Placement Exam. Students who have already taken the UW System Mathematics Placement Exam and were placed at the developmental level (MATH 090, 096, or 097) are strongly encouraged to join the program in preparation for a retake. While the Math FastTrack is free to participate in, please note that there is a $20 fee for retaking the UW System Mathematics Placement Exam.

What is remedial or developmental math?

Like a remedy, remedial classes are supplementary courses designed to assist in learning, practicing, and strengthening core academic skills necessary for success in college-level courses. These courses serve as extra supports as students take college level math class OR are required before entering into a college-level course.
