The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will hold its Jazz Vocal Extravaganza on Thursday, December 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Manion Theater.
“It’s great to be at a school where we have the kind of vocal talent that we do and we’re able to feature them in these concerts,” said Greg Kehl Moore, DMA, professor of music and jazz program director. “It’s an opportunity to explore vocal and instrumental elements of jazz.”
The evening will be highlighted by student singers Sydney Adkins, Seth Gudmunsen, Derek Ruport and Chloe Wiitala with the UW-Superior Jazz Band performing music from Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Norah Jones and Stevie Wonder.
The UW-Superior Jazz Combo will perform a piece inspired by the opening credits of the 1988 comedy, “The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!”
Tickets are $5 for adults and free for students. Manion Theater is in the Holden Fine Arts Center at 1805 Catlin Ave. in Superior.
