TYPE

The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will host a special guest recital featuring pianists Kaju Lee and Lina Lee on Thursday, November 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Webb Recital Hall.

The concert, titled “Four Hands, One Heart,” is a piano duet performance featuring a variety of styles and time periods, showcasing music for four hands by composers from different parts of the world. The program reflects both classical and contemporary influences, emphasizing the bond between two pianists performing in tandem.

The dynamic synergy between the two performers will add a deeply personal and emotional layer to the experience, enhancing the audience’s appreciation for both the music and the art of duet playing. This concert promises an engaging exploration of the piano duet form, with both familiar Western classical pieces and a lesser-known gem from Korea.

The audience can expect a rich, diverse musical journey. From the gentle, serene “Morning Mood” by Edvard Grieg, to the playful, animated “Hungarian Dances” by Johannes Brahms, the program blends contrasting moods and atmospheres. The interplay between the two pianists will demonstrate both technical precision and expressive collaboration. Additionally, “Chunan Samgeori” by Unhoe Park will offer a unique cultural touch, introducing the audience to Korean musical heritage.

Tickets are $10. Webb Recital Hall is in Holden Fine and Applied Arts, 1805 Catlin Ave.
