The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will host more than 80 of the best high school string musicians from throughout the region for its Honors Orchestra Festival on Thursday, November 30.
“This is our annual Honors Orchestra Festival that showcases the talented high school string students from around the Twin Ports area and beyond,” said Erin Aldridge, Honors Orchestra Festival coordinator and professor of orchestra and violin at UW-Superior.
The event will conclude with a public performance featuring both the high school Honor Orchestra and University Orchestra at 5 p.m. in Thorpe Langley Auditorium. The concert will include works by Whitacre, Bartok, Meyer and the Eurythmics, among others.
Tickets are $5 for adults and free for students. Thorpe Langley Auditorium is in Old Main at 1710 Weeks Ave. in Superior.
