In celebration of Arbor Day the Jim Dan Hill Library at the University of Wisconsin-Superior launched a novel campaign to raise awareness of its electronic resources.

The “Digi-Tree” initiative features QR codes that link to materials located in the library database “Hoopla,” promoting access to its digital sources.

During the week of April 29 to May 3, students were encouraged to explore campus and snap a selfie with the Digi-Trees located in and around various departments, such as Veteran and Nontraditional Student Center, Financial Aid, the Link Center, Technology Services Help Desk, the Writing Center, and many others. Students could show the selfie at the library’s front desk for a piece of candy.

This initiative is part of the library’s ongoing efforts to promote services and materials across campus. Previous examples include themed pop-up libraries and tabling events. These events, like the Digi-Tree initiative, aim to increase visibility of the diverse range of services and resources available through the Jim Dan Hill Library.
