The University of Wisconsin-Superior will hold its commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at Siinto S. Wessman Arena on the UW-Superior campus. Hailie Evans has been selected to provide the Student Address.
Evans, a native of Proctor, Minnesota, will graduate with Bachelor of Arts degrees in writing and English. This fall, she will begin studies at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, pursuing a Juris Doctor with the goal of practicing law in Minnesota.
During her time at UW-Superior, Evans was a four-year member of the Yellowjacket women’s basketball team, played violin in the UWS Orchestra, and served as editor-in-chief of The Nemadji Review for the 2025 publication. She also presented her academic work at several conferences, and her creative writing has been featured in The Nemadji Review.
In her free time, Evans enjoys spending time with family, playing basketball, listening to a wide variety of music, and working on her speculative fiction novel currently in progress.
