About
Jennifer has been fortunate to serve as a public school educator, in various roles, for over 20 years. She has educated adults through professional learning communities (PLCs), in school districts, to enhance the teaching and learning practices for teachers and principals. Jennifer is excited to enhance the lives of future educational leaders through program offerings at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
Jennifer has life experiences that have contributed to her success as an educational leader. She has been a superintendent, a building principal and a special education teacher. As an educational leader, one of her primary responsibilities, which has helped her lead school districts, was to constantly be aware of the environmental changes facing educational organizations, use data-based research in decision-making, and implementing effective teaching and learning practices to enrich the learning environment for teachers and principals in these settings.
Jennifer’s prior experiences as an educational leader in small, rural school districts provided her the opportunity to maintain multiple leadership roles. This required her to sustain a strong foundation of knowledge in areas of special education, common core state standards, teaching and learning practices, business management, college and career readiness skills, and human resource procedures. She believes in a collaborative leadership style, using frequent methods of communication and maintaining strong organizational skills to enhance and provide the essential components required to sustain strong foundations of education at all levels.
She has her Wisconsin Superintendent License, Wisconsin Principal License and Wisconsin Special Education-Learning Disabilities Teaching License.
Research
Jennifer earned her Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership in 2020.
