About
Alisa received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Northern Illinois University in 2011. Since arriving at UW-Superior in 2011, she has worked with her colleague, Dr. Mansbach, on the changing strategies and focus of the pro-life movement in the U.S. They continue to work on projects related to newly emerging abortion policies as they arise.
Research Interests
In addition to her ongoing interest and study of biomedical policy and law, Alisa’s research has focused on reproductive rights, the pro-life movement, and the Religious Right. She has numerous co-authored peer-reviewed articles and conference presentations with colleague, Dr. Daniela Mansbach, including a 2016 book, titled Reproductive Rights in the Age of Human Rights: Pro-Life Politics from Roe through Hobby Lobby. Currently, both are focused on a number of new projects, including a study of Crisis Pregnancy Centers in Wisconsin and the role of pseudoscience in the creation of abortion policy.
