About

Deborah Rausch currently performs with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra (DSSO) as Assistant/Utility horn.  Her local performance experiences also include Lyric Opera of the North (LOON), the Northern Lights Music Festival, and the Minnesota Ballet. 

Outside of the orchestral stage, she enjoys performing with both the DSSO and the Twin Ports Brass Quintets.  Ms. Rausch has written curriculum for DSSO Young Peoples Concerts and frequently coaches masterclasses for local honor band festivals and the DSSO Youth Orchestra Programs.  In addition to being an instructor of horn at the University of Wisconsin- Superior, she maintains a private studio for students of all ages and abilities. 

Ms. Rausch is also an active member of the Possibilities Quartet, who engage in educational programming, lessons, masterclasses and performances for orchestra and band programs throughout the region.  Ms. Rausch is the founding member of the Northlands Finest Horn Choir (NFHC), a group of above average horns that meet irregularly with great enthusiasm.  

Her hobbies include hiking and skiing with musician friends, knitting, gardening, and all things related to dinosaurs.
