The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will host more than 100 of the best high school musicians from throughout the Northland for the Tri-State Band Festival on Thursday, October 17.

Students will rehearse with UW-Superior Music Department faculty Steven Siegel, concert band; Brett Jones, percussion ensemble; Deb Rausch and David Leslie, brass ensemble; and Melanie Sever, woodwind ensemble.

The day will conclude with a public concert at 7 p.m. in Thorpe Langley Auditorium featuring both high school and UW-Superior musicians. The UWS Symphonic Band will open the concert and will feature a trumpet trio of Elise Besonen, Nathaniel Fechtelkotter and Sam Payne performing Leroy Anderson’s “Bugler’s Holiday.” Tickets are $5 for adults and free for students.
