The University of Wisconsin-Superior’s Jim Dan Hill Library is proud to announce the grand opening of a dedicated Family Study Room. This space is designed to cater specifically to the needs of students who care for small children, providing a supportive and inclusive environment for their academic pursuits.

The Family Study Room is equipped with study tables and chairs for adults, a white board, a desktop computer, a screen for laptop projection and outlets for personal technology. In addition, kid-friendly furniture, some toys and of course books are available for kids who accompany their grown-ups to the library.

Child-Friendly Environment: The room is designed to be child-friendly, with amenities that accommodate students with young children and is near the restroom on the first floor. This ensures that student-parents can focus on their studies while attending to the needs of their families.

Productive Space: The Family Study Room offers a productive, closed-door space that is still connected to the campus community for students to concentrate on their academic endeavors but not feel isolated.

Access to Resources: The Family Study Room is steps from all the Jim Dan Hill Library collections in the Garden Level such as copier, Navigate kiosk and friendly staff and librarians to help find needed materials.

Regular Library Hours: The Family Study Room is available during regular library hours.

In addition to the Family Study Room, a new study room is available on the Garden Level. Library staff are excited about the positive impact these new spaces will have, acknowledging that a supportive academic environment is key to student (and family) success.
