Overview
UW-Superior is an ideal place to prepare for graduate study in medicine and health professions. Small class sizes allow you to get to know your professors and receive personalized attention. Faculty are well-connected and knowledgeable and will help you prepare and optimize your application for graduate programs. UW-Superior also offers research and experiential learning opportunities often found only at much larger institutions.
Students who plan to go to medical school or a health professional program commonly major in biology or chemistry. The pre-med/pre-health concentration will help you ensure that you complete course requirements and experiences needed for grad school entrance exams and applications.
What You’ll Learn
In this concentration, you will cover courses in human anatomy & physiology, biology, and genetics, as well as various electives based on your interests and career path. Elective courses can range from cancer biology, neurobiology, animal behavior, immunology, and parasitology, to name a few.

International Students
STEM Designated Degree Program
For international students, this major is a STEM Designated Degree Program which can qualify you to extend your post-graduation stay in the United States.
Living on campus has allowed me to get to know and build connections with a wide variety of people. I’ve met some of my best friends through living on the same floor/being roommates and it is something I will forever be grateful for. With the residence halls being so close to campus, it makes it easier to take advantage of all the fun events, too.
